What are Dental Implants?

How are Dental Implants Placed?

Anxious About Dental Implant Surgery?

Do you have missing teeth, loose dentures or failing crowns? Do you worry about having to wear dentures? Do you suffer pain from teeth or poorly fitting dentures? Dental implants offer a solution to all of these problems. By fixing your teeth securely you should be able to eat comfortably, kiss confidently and smile naturally. It is no exaggeration to say that dental implants can improve the quality of you life as many of our Birmingham Dental Implant Patients will testify.

A dental implant, made from titanium, is fixed securely into a pre-drilled hole in your jaw bone. This involves a small invasive proceedure. Most patients choose sedation, although the proceedure can also be carried out under local anesthetic.

Reliable studies have shown that dental implants can last for over 20 years if properly cared for. Maintenance or replacement of the restoration due to wear and tear may be required in the same way as conventional crowns or bridges.

Generally, if you have good health you should be suitable for dental implants. Very few medical conditions will prevent you having implant treatment but we can advise you at your consultation. We may on occasion require clarification of suitability from your GP or specialist.
