Dental Implant Training Birmingham

‘Hands-on’ Informative Training Evenings

Will regularly holds complimentary and  informal training evening for dental practitioners who refer or want to know more about dental implants. Our hands on course for impression taking over implants is always well attended as it gives practitioners a feel for dental implant prosthodontics and often starts off their own provision of implants to their patients. All courses are CPD accredited and ample refreshment.

To involve our referring dentists in the treatment process and remuneration, we run implant seminars several times a year. Topics demonstrated include ‘How to take implant level impressions’; ‘How to fit the final abutment and crown;’ ‘How to stabilise dentures with implants’; ‘How to detect implant failure and the possible causes’. All seminars attended will count towards your CPD.

For those wishing to carry out the restoration of the implant, Will will be happy to assist you free of charge, with your first case.

Straumann sponsors Implant prosthetics evening in Birmingham

A jointly run informal evening on dental implant prosthetics was held at Will Murphy Dentistry in Birmingham city centre on 1st April 2009. Course organisers Dr Will Murphy and Domenic Amendola from Techniform Dental laboratory teamed up to introduce local practitioners to basic dental implant prosthetics.

The course focused on the simplicity of open and closed pick up impression techniques using the Straumann Implant System. Dr Will Murphy who runs an implant referral practice in Newhall St Birmingham, gave the introductory lecture to explain the implant connections that practitioners should be familiar with in order to restore dental implants. The dentists were then able to take part in a hands on session where they were able to enhance their skills by taking impressions of the implants with the closed and open impression techniques. ..... impression materials were kindly provided and demonstrated by… from ....

“I was delighted with the general enthusiasm from the dentists” said Will Murphy “We decided that there were many practitioners in the locality who would like to introduce dental implants into their range of services. Many dentists understand the added value of meeting patients’ demand for dental implants. It may be that they do not want to commit to the surgical aspects of implant dentistry yet but would have all the necessary skills to restore single units and short bridges.” The course is due to be repeated in September2009 with the introduction of an implant overdenture evening to be added shortly.
